ABOUT US

Where cutting-edge AI research meets world-class engineering

Troubleshooting production incidents is one of the toughest challenges in software — petabytes of noisy data, each incident unique, and every minute costly. Solving it means pushing the limits of what LLMs can do.

Raj Agrawal
Ahmed Lone
Anish Agarwal

Anish’s research career has been focused on causal machine learning and synthetic data generation. After achieving his goal of becoming a professor, he saw a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to combine his love of research and commercialization of technology to address one of the most important problems in software.

Professor of Operations Research & Computer Science at Columbia University
Ph.D. in Computer Science at MIT
Formerly at Boston Consulting Group, Amazon Core AI, and Microsoft Research
Raaz Dwivedi

Raaz is a leading researcher in causal machine learning and reinforcement learning. He started Traversal to apply his work to one of the most difficult statistical workflows in industry – troubleshooting incidents – and quickly fell in love with the problem, pushing his research to make self-healing software a reality.

Professor of Operations Research & Computer Science at Cornell Tech
Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley, Postdoc at Harvard and MIT
Formerly at Microsoft Research and WorldQuant
President’s Gold Medal at IIT Bombay, and IIT-JEE All India Rank 10
Raj Agrawal

Raj works at the intersection of graphical models and large-scale machine learning systems. He saw an opportunity to apply principles from his research on how gene regulatory networks cause disease to a new domain: understanding how issues in microservices cause production incidents — as it turns out, the two topics have more in common than you’d expect.

Ph.D. in Computer Science at MIT
Formerly at Basis and Arbilex
Ahmed Lone

Ahmed combines engineering, product, and trading experience to shape Traversal’s approach to AI-driven site reliability. After getting paged one too many times for 3:00 AM production incidents as a high-frequency quant trader — leading to more than a few failed dates — he helped start Traversal to end on-call for good.

Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Finance at the University of Pennsylvania
Formerly at Citadel Securities
