Most teams talk about agent autonomy as if it’s all-or-nothing: either the agent is autonomous, or it isn’t. For incident response, it’s actually a progression, and most agents in production today are earlier on that curve than the teams running them realize. There are three phases: invoked, agents that wait to be opened and asked; background, jobs and alert rules set to fire on conditions predicted in advance; and proactive, agents that decide for themselves when an incident needs attention, without waiting to be triggered.
This session traces that progression in production: what separates a responsive agent from one that acts on its own, and what it takes to trust an agent enough to act autonomously. You’ll hear from Traversal co-founder Raaz Dwivedi on where this shift is already happening, and what changes once an agent stops waiting to be asked.
